i care too brian. mostly that your metal is going to look so much better than mine! that formica nightmare really stinks. i have some cigarette burns on mine and some gashes, but am able to still use it. i think you are going to find something authentic though seeing that you are so thorough.

Been there, it's worth it! Try starting with S.O.S. pads and water then work your way down to finer wool and wet sandpaper before polish.
